Where's my kWh rate?
Look at your most recent electric bill — the 'energy charge', 'supply rate', or 'usage' line, divided by kWh consumed. Most US residential rates land between $0.08 (low: ID, WA, LA) and $0.40+ (high: HI, CA, MA).
Does this include fixed monthly fees?
No. Most utilities charge a fixed customer/connection fee per month independent of usage (typically $5–$25). This calculator estimates the variable cost only. Add the fixed fee separately for a full bill estimate.
